OK,, I might as well jump in here. Sorry Gene ;=).

The first PC I ever built, after it became obvious that the Amiga (which
I graduated to from the CoCo) was going nowhere. It had an AMD K6
processor, a mother board which I can't remember the name of now, and
as much RAM as I could afford and Windows 98SE installed. It was never
a question of whether I'd get the BSOD, the question was when within
the next five minutes I'd get it. EVERYONE told me that W98SE was the
gold standard and ME was JUNK which is why I initally installed it. I
then went against their advice and installed ME and WAAHHHHHH that beast
went ROCK SOLID! Never a BSOD again. Fast forward to Vista... it came
with my new laptop. When I realized what MS did.. I literally screamed
"It's about freaking time!!!" MS finally setup the OS to operate like
Linux! When installed, the user was just that, USER. MS blocked all the
unauthorized shortcuts rebellious game programmers were using which
broke their precious games, and left the OS vulnerable to the Black
Hats. I never had a quibble with Vista. W7 is OK and quite solid. I use
W8.1 now and have made peace with having the cheese moved... again. I
have been beta testing W10 since it was released and I really like it. I
hope DW and all the emulators we have come to know and love continue to
work on it. They currently do with W10 beta, at least for me. I use
Linux as well. The trick there is to pick a distro you like and stick
with it. Learn its quirks and be happy. My distro of choice is Mint
which is a fork of Ubuntu which is a fork off Debian.

My goal is to obtain a Raspberry PI, DE1, or Ardunio <sp?> when I stop
spending pratically every waking hour preparing to teach Linux, Windows
Active Director and basic networking to 40 year old high school
students, and learn the best way to couple it with a CoCo 8-).

I like the idea of using one of those as a file server for the CoCo.
