[Coco] OS-9 on Raspberry Pi

I'm with Nick, I've used almost every version of windows up to Vista excluding 2000 and ME which I never used. Someone told me once that the only reason to upgrade to a new version of Windows is because you bought a new computer and it comes with a new version.. This one came with Vista, so until I get a new one, I'll use Vista. By the time I get a new computer, Windows 10 will be out, so I'll probably go there.
I've never had major problems and most problems I've seen could have been avoided. I did the research, made the changes and adjusted my computer to my needs. I keep the drivers updated, the software compatible, and the system clean (no OEM crap) and ALWAYS in classic mode. When people see my screen, they ask me "Are you using Win98?" because that's what my Vista setup looks like.
Also, I've never "bought" a retail version of windows, using only what came with my computer (highly stripped of junk).
It's all a matter of what you need, what you do with it, and what you're used to.
But when it's all said and done, windows probably weighs in at 1000 to 1 in installed consumer computer operating system. There's something to be said for that. If it was bad as everyone makes it out to be... it would've faded long ago with the other failures... bloated? yep but a lot of the bloat can be avoided... there's more bloat by the 3rd party software vendors than in windows itself.
And yes, I've tried many versions of Linux.. got tired of everything I wanted to do I had to find a driver or "download a package" or change settings which I didn't know where to look.... I would eventually forget what it was I was trying to set it up for. So I'd give up and go back to familiar ground in Windows.
I would expect a long-time Linux user to have the same problems in Windows, again, it's what you're used to.. and what you need.

Besides, Linux won't run "World of Warcraft" :-P

I must be living in a different timeline to you guys.

I had Windows XP for 5 years, computer never crashed on me, getting
software to work was never a problem.

Then I had Windows 7 for almost 3 years, same there.

A year ago I switched to Windows 8. I loaded Classic Shell from day
1 and never saw the Metro Tiles. I liked it and preferred it over
Windows 7. No problems at all.

Now I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 (Still using Classic Shell) and

it's even better.

I look forward to Windows 10 (I have the preview).

I read all these bad reports from people here about Windows and I
conclude that you guys must be in another timeline.

I'm not switching, I'm getting my work done just fine and the choice
of software and the hardware options are the biggest in the industry.

Nick
