[Coco] CoCo Cassette Relay (Remote)

It's just the name dw3rom that confuses... as there is a dw3rom. From what I understand, it's supposed to make nitros9 bootable from dw3-4 without using hdbdos... but again, no documentation. The roms themselves are in the toolshed repo, but you have to build them. I "think" those dw3dos.wav files are the same, but I really don't know. I know the the trk files are just a direct dump of a boot for trk 34 so that when you type "DOS" , the coco will try to boot NOS9 from a dw3-4 drive instead of a real drive. But that trk has to be on a real drive... hmmmm... kinda kills the purpose. It all get's confusing in the end. I just use what I know works for my system which runs well at the moment... until the rules or the names change again.

Ok Bill, I wasn't confused at all before...Now I am.

The DW3 ROM included in the archive provided by Cloud9 is the regular
HDB-DOS ROM that supports DW3. There are no DW3DOS ROM's in that archive.
There do seem to be some in .WAV format or that funky .TRK format I could
never figure out. I can't even find my old DW3DOS ROM files.

Ohhhh...memory less fuzzy now. I "retired" that version for 2 reasons..

1. Keyboard re-peat rate thingy was wayyyy to sensitive on my CoCo.
2. Did not support DriveWire 4 Turbo :)

Chad, you're confusing yourself (and others) with improper naming... He is
referring to the DW3dos.rom NOT the hdbdw3ccx.rom (x being the Coco model)).
They are 2 completely different monsters. hdbdos is NOT the "dw rom" it's
the "hdbdw3ccx.rom" though the hdbdw3ccx.rom has dw capabilities.
There is an actual DW3DOS.rom that does not contain hdbdos. You can download
it from Cloud9's site.
I don't know all the specifics on that rom as I don't use it. And I have yet
to find the documentation to this set of roms.

OK I just tested this and it does work with the HDB-DOS based DW ROM. Is
this a patched version of the game? It does NOT work with the BIN I had.

I just load Zaxxon with DW here without any issues. Try using this image:
