Yeah, unless you already had an older PC you likely will only find one on eBay now (with the premium that "vintage" hardware accrues).  The Drivewire setup is probably the cheapest option if you don't have a tweener.

That's exactly what I said. The PC option running DOS or win 95 is a great way to make physical media. I just meant that the SDC made my life easier.  It took me a while to find an older pc with a 5 1/4 drive. It seems like they are harder and harder to find. I used to see them at the thrift store all the time; but now any tower with a CD drive is considered old school.

I sometimes use my old DOS based 386sx to make disks but nothing beats the ease of using the coco with both the SDC and a Fd502.  The SDC is a great piece of hardware

I use an old Dell pentium with win98 and a 360k floppy installed.  I then use Jeff Vavasour's emulator to write the .DSK to actual floppy disk.
There is some incompatibility between the DSK Jeff uses and the normal ones found on the web, but it works if you don't alter the DSK before writing it
- just load and write immediately.
