Hi Ciaran,
I have now installed the Windows version also, and after reading your
document, particularly the troubleshooting section, it would appear that
neither the linux nor the Windows (Windows 8.2) version see my rom file.
The file was downloaded from the dragon website, and once unzipped, is
called COCO.ROM. That file has all three ROMs in it, CB, ECB and DECB.
It has a two byte preamble ($0080).\
All I get is the checkerboard screen, and the stderr.txt file says:
WARNING: Can't find ROMs for any machine.
Module init: Windows SDL UI
Module init: Windows file requester
Module init: SDL OpenGL video
Module init: SDL audio
     16-bit signed little-endian, stereo, 48000Hz
     2 frags * 512 frames/frag = 1024 frames buffer (21.3ms)
Module init: SDL keyboard input
     No joysticks found
Machine: Dragon 64
Machine: Tandy CoCo (PAL)
Cartridge: RS-DOS
Module shutdown: SDL keyboard input
Module shutdown: SDL audio
Module shutdown: SDL OpenGL video
Module shutdown: Windows file requester
Module shutdown: Windows SDL UI
I think I must be doing something fundamentally wrong :(
