Not viable. But can the ARM emulate the 6809?

If it can be made to do this, could it become a drop in replacement 6809 
that can run higher than 1.89Mhz and still provide the rest of the 
subsystem the old clock speeds it needs?

A faster CPU would open up the doors for OS-9 running on genuine hardware.
