Beyond being (possibly? :) difficult to acquire, the 6551 is slooooow
as molasses.

Why stick a 115kbps serial port in between the Coco bus/ram which can
do about 6Mb/s in ideal situations (if i recall discussions correctly,
might be a bit off but it is in the multiple Mbps range)  and the SD
card which can do a minimum of 16Mbps?

I would love to see an SPI interface for the Coco, then we could do SD
cards and lots of other stuff properly.
