This was the original design goal of the TC-9/TC-70 combo from FHL, as well, although I don't think more than rudimentary test code was every completed (Bill Nobel and I, who did the 2nd version of the TC-9 OS-9/NitrOS-9 drivers) never had a K-BUS or TC-70 card, so we never got involved with it).
