There were also electronics stores called "Tandy" (the storefront  
banner used the same distinctive typeface as the American company,  
ISTR) in France.  I remember seeing one such store when I was a kid on  
vacation in Toulouse in the summer of 1986.  I didn't get to go  
inside, so have no idea what items they had available.
