My 2-cents:

The Apple 2 Usenet group was basically ruined for about 6 years due to 
incessant and childish flame wars over copyright and copying.  In a 
perfect world, mature adults should be able to discuss these things in a 
constructive manner.  However, it inevitably seems to degenerate to a low 
common denominator of hard feelings and name calling.

If folks want to swap copyrighted software and/or magazine scans, then do 
it offline so as not to offend more delicate sensibilities.
