Frank, that brings back memories!!!
Way back in the '80s, I led a usergroup at a school, which had about 20
(IIRC) coco 1 grey case computers, with a similar setup. A friend and I
modified all those computers to have composite video out for a much better
picture, since the TV's used had composite inputs.
Each student's computer could be separately selected to save his/her data to
the teacher's computer, and an LED came on for each student that had typed
the CLOAD command, I guess the relay contacts were used to light the LED.
I wrote (with the help of another usergroup member), a machine code
programme to help the teacher find and send programmes off the disk drive,
to the cassette port. I remember spending hours on the phone in our
collabaration. What fun!
