Q1: Do you have a CoCo setup and running? If so, which models?
Two CoCo3s, both 128K with 3.5" drive; my main repack also has 5.25"
drives and I plan to add an IDE hard drive to both. The non-repacked
CoCo has it's 3.5" mounted internally and has been modified to run off
a 12V car lighter socket.
Q2: What do you mainly use your CoCo for?
Color FOG testing & development. After I get a hard drive setup I hope
to get into OS9 programming.
I also use the portable during my lunch breaks sometimes to play games
(Cosmic Ambush and Space Intruders are in regular rotation!)
Q3: What products would you like to see developed for your CoCo that
you
would be prepared to purchase? (List in order of preference)
How about a TWAIN driver (or some-such) for those cheap serial digital
cameras that could interface with Projector-3?
Web browser(!)... since ethernet seems imminent!
Vectrex emulator?
Q4: What sort of games would you like to see developed for your CoCo?
(In order of preference)
I'd like to see a good 3-D racing (on or off-road) game based on the
Gloom engine. I'd pay for that too!
Q5: What is your favourite CoCo game of all time and why?
Tough Q! Many of my favorites are the simplest games such as ZONX and
Dang It! Both playable on David Grier's online CC2 emulator, and both
magazine programs, btw; one ML and one Basic. I enjoy educational
software too.
I also loved the graphic adventures: Sands of Egypt, Dallas Quest,
Calixto Island, etc, etc...
Alltime favorites were arcades though... Zaxxon, Polaris, Joust
clones... classic arcade games are all the rage today. I could see
someone's grandkids playing CoCo versions of the same classic games
that they're playing on todays PCs, PS-2s and X-Boxes and thinking it's
a cool old computer.
