Hi Thomas!
Some short answers -
Cost: it completely depends on what you're going to make, and what you  
want to get out of the campaign. We've done a lot of work with clients  
on this, so can help you with your (and your colleagues') questions in  
more detail, but at the moment, it's very much a 'how long is a piece  
of string?' question.
When should you begin brainstorming: As soon as possible. Now is a  
pretty good start, if you allow for about 3-4 months of build, if  
there's no special/new technology involved.
