okay.. my mind is wandering with this idea - you know, because so much of the what we read has become "what we are marketed to read".. (which includes packaging writers and putting them on oprah), i like this idea of anonymous writing.? i'm voting curtains all around.? somehow this conversation makes me think about jt leroy.? everyone loved jt leroy's writing when they believed the fictional background (young, transgender, ex prostitute, abuse victim) that the writer created - (pseudeonym gone wild) - but when the curtain was pulled back and it was revealed that it was a woman in her 30's (i think also an abuse victim but none of the other stuff), everyone was really angry.? there was a lot of finger pointing and hoax claiming.. but i think she created a curtain for herself because she understood the market place for her writing.? hmmm... a jt leroy arg... ;)

Why would one be more interested in publishing anonymously anyway? I mean, I
can think of particular situations like Primary Colors ... but why is that a
desired artistic goal?
