Busy, definitely want to make a deeper answer, but the glib answer is:

Discordian media (like ARGs, zines, and, let's be frank, the Web as a whole)
is the antidote to the Karl Roves of the universe: there are people
manipulating reality in far more sinister ways: playing with reality teaches
people to be more media critical in general. Subtext: seek out the hidden.
