Hi Bob,
That is apparently one of those virus that spoofs email addresses. I did
not send it, nor do I have a virus on any of the computers I use. I
maintain networks, make sure that everything is up to date, use both a
hardware and software firewall.
Folks, the only thing I will ever send to this list is the lesson
commentaries OR informational type emails. They are always formatted for
plain text which means there will never be an attachment. If by chance I do
send something with an attachment, I will always tell you exactly what it
is, and you can be sure that it will not be an .scr file type. You should
all read up on the known virus attachments, and realize that most of them
these days are designed to spoof email addresses.
You should never just open an attachment, even if it's from someone you
know. Always screen it for virus, and always keep your antivirus software
up-to-date.
If by chance you've opened the virus attachment, you can get current
information about it, and scan your machine from most of the antivirus
sites, including:
Norton Antivirus -
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&close_parent
=true&bhcp=1
TrendMicro - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
McAfee - http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?cid=9435
In the meantime, I will talk to Allen about blocking all attachments thru
the lists.
Peace,
Susan Carrier

I tried to open the attachment and my software said there is a virus in the
attachment. Would you please use an antivirus software to clean up the
attachment and re-send it. I don't know what this e-mail is about. Thank
you!
