[Acupuncture-students] integration of Acupuncture into the NHS

Thanks Al, I had already found some research done into the cost
effectiveness of Acupuncture, "Is Acupuncture for pain relief in general
practice cost effective" by Steven Lindall. I have to agree with your
comments about the reason why Acupuncture will be integrated into general
practice.

One thing that worries me is what will become of Acupuncture if it is put
under the same constraints as other general practice models, ie time spent
with patients, will traditional methods be abandoned etc

Many thanks

Annette

There's a saying in forensic investigations (murder) and that is to
"follow the money" which apparently will lead you to the murderer or
the person who is most likely going to profit from a murder.

Integration of TCM or acupuncture into a national health care program
is going to be, first and foremost, a financial and economic decision.
Acupuncture treating pain in the lower back is much cheaper than a
surgery.

Researching this kind of information will yield insight into the
benefit of acupuncture within our healthcare system.
