He finds Sente to offer many parallels to the Papyrus for PC that he warmly remembers. Has anyone uploaded a data base from Papyrus for Classic environment to Sente or any other current Mac bibliographic software? If yes, how does it handle the notecards? -- Ann Lennarson Greer Professor of Sociology and Urban Studies University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Milwaukee, WI 53201-0413 Office: 1-414-229-6944/4388 Office fax: 1-414-229-4266 Home Milwaukee: 414-351-1617 Personal fax 1-440-297-0867 London: 44-(0)20-7352-0243 Email: agreer at uwm.edu From logies at web.de Sun Aug 16 10:34:50 2009 From: logies at web.de (Michael Logies) Date: Sun, 16 Aug 2009 16:34:50 +0200 Subject: [Papyrus-L] Converting Papyrus from Mac classic to new Macs In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <4A88190A.2040402@web.de> Are you aware of Zotero (http://www.zotero.org/)? Zotero is available for Mac, Windows, Linux. I would hesitate to choose a software running only on one OS. I`m not doing serious publishing, but for the little articles I publish from time to time it`s a great tool for collecting and organizing information. Regards M. I have just last January moved to Papyrus under Classic after clinging to DOS until then. I am very happy with it but the 800 mg computer I have leaves a lot to be desired. I intend to check out what maximum speed I might find in computers that operate Classic. But I'll sure look into Bookends as well. Many thanks. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <20090923201600.8DCF66759E@mailwash12.pair.com> I just met someone who was hoping that someone had invented useful bibliography database software that can handle Chinese. I told her that I thought from my knowledge of Papyrus, Endnote and Reference Manager that it was hard to support well even extended ASCII or ANSI characters in today's bibliography software, let alone something like Chinese. It would require Unicode support, I guess. Any thoughts from the group?
