Message-ID: <4720FDD4.6080305@comcast.net> Hi all-- I'm new to the list, but have been using Papyrus off and on since about 1990. I am currently moving out of Windows to a Linux-based system (Xandros distribution). There are two ways I can think of to run Papyrus in Linux: 1) Windows adapter software. I am able to run MS Office apps pretty well under Linux by using CrossOver (by codeweavers). 2) Recompile the C source code under Linux. This would require some code tweaking, but would then make the resulting Papyrus version a native Linux application. Has anyone successfully done either of these options? Thanks for any info in advance, --Trent Tschirgi From colinmorg at googlemail.com Fri Nov 2 09:28:52 2007 From: colinmorg at googlemail.com (Colin Morgan) Date: Fri, 2 Nov 2007 13:28:52 +0000 Subject: [Papyrus-L] Windows Vista Message-ID: <1a2d6b470711020628o46e7d82u607af508f82a5990@mail.gmail.com> I am new to the list but used Papyrus a lot during my previous employment. Has anyone managed to get Papyrus to install on Windows Vista? When seeking to edit the autoexec.bat & config.sys files the install program displays the error message: 'On script line 558 we had a problem: code is 0005 while creating a file'. If I proceed with the installation I am left with an empty folder: C: PAP. Perhaps I am exceptionally naive in wishing Papyrus to work in this environment. Any help welcome. I was particularly keen to find a software which allowed storing notecards the way Papyrus does. Among the many replies for which I warmly thank you, Duncan Branley suggested Zotero (www.zotero.org), still being developed at that time, but which is now available. I have looked into it and it looks very promising. I wondered if anybody is using it and can tell me how you are finding it and how the migration went?
