From jeff at nhrc.net Sat May 10 22:32:50 2008 From: jeff at nhrc.net (Jeff Otterson) Date: Sat, 10 May 2008 22:32:50 -0400 Subject: [NHRC-user] Announcing the RadioGrid RG-4 Radio Gateway Message-ID: <6.1.2.0.2.20080510223159.043b0008@mail.bellsouth.net> NHRC Repeater Controllers and RadioGrid LLC are pleased to introduce the RadioGrid RG-4 Radio Gateway. The RadioGrid RG-4 Radio Gateway allows Radio traffic to tunnel through the Internet using industry-standard VoIP technology. Each RG-4 can control up to four repeaters or link radios. Each repeater or link radio can be linked to any other port on the RG-4, or, through the internet, to repeater or link radio ports on other RG-4 Radio Gateways. Any port can operate independently or be linked to one or more ports, on the same RG-4, another RG-4 on the same LAN, or to other RG-4s through public or private IP networks. Your network can support a very large number of radios, limited only by available network bandwidth. The RG-4 is built around Asterisk open source PBX technology. Telephony integration is built-in, and fully integrated. Radios gatewayed through the RG-4 can be allowed to originate and receive VoIP telephone calls from your local network, and (with appropriate external hardware or by using an internet telephony provider) to and from the public telephone network. This means you can dial into your repeater or remote base from anywhere there is a telephone, or Internet access. The RG-4 uses industry-standard protocols and CODECs. It can interoperate with a variety of hardware and software platforms, including Asterisk, SIP and IAX-based soft-phones, and a wide variety of VoIP Service Providers. The RadioGrid RG-4 can be easily managed and upgraded with its built-in web configuration utility. Because the RG-4 is built with 100% open source software, the entire software platform can be modified by experienced end users. New functionality can be added by editing the supplied scripts, or writing new applications to run on the RG-4. Security is built in. Connections to the RG-4 can be limited to specific IP addresses, hostnames, and/or require authentication using conventional passwords or asymmetric encryption, using RSA keys. Specifications: VoIP Protocols * SIP * IAX2 VoIP CODECS * G.711 (?-law) * GSM 100% Open Source * uClinux, including Linux 2.6.16 kernel * Asterisk 1.4.19 * RadioGrid drivers and scripts * All source code is available Web-based setup and management * No expensive proprietary programs to buy! * Web-based Software Update keeps you current. We have two of the decoders and neither one will decode our tone and make a logic change. We bought a new one and it does the same thing. We tested it on the bench and it doesn't decode. Any thoughts? If what you have is truly a SS-64, it is NOT a decoder, it only encodes...... If you meant TS-64, then that is another story.... You may or may not have to install the JP7 jumper if the output is upside-down from what you expect.
