We have supplied food for Passover for more than 30 families who cannot afford it. This year, because of the timing of the Spring Gala and other fund raisers, Men?s Club elected not to formally raise funds for this purpose. However, the families of Kiryat Malachi have come to depend on the generosity of our community. This year, Rabbi Bayar kicked off this year?s fund raising drive by generously donating $3,000 from his Discretionary Fund. We are now seeking additional donations for this very worthy cause and are asking our fellow congregants to please give a little something to feed those most in need. Opening day of the 2006 Temple Brotherhood league is Sunday, April 16th. More info to follow as soon as the schedule is finalized. Join Hearts and Hands as we participate in an educational?group hike through the South Mountain Reservation on April 16, 2006?(time to be determined but early afternoon). We will be guided by a Jewish environmental educator from the Teva learning center (see www.tevacenter.org). ?Teva (nature) does marvelous work in getting Jews back in touch with nature. The hike will be fun and informative; the "Teva-niks" are a young, hearty and hip bunch who bring young and old alike to a new awareness of their Judaism. We have to limit this to the first 30?or 35 who register and the cost will be$10/adult and $5/child under 18.
