Agree ... I would think "Mastering" is more than merely "Advanced".

But if the idea is this is the 3rd Stonehenge course, which can only
assume Llama+Alpaca+Camel as prerequisites, stuff in Panther/AdvPerl
book should be fair game, as you aren't likely to teach Panther for your
4th course.  

Ok, so what in Panther/Adv.Perl is necessary for Mastering Perl?

* Parsing covered lightly in cookbook, algorithms, best-of, and PBP, not
mainstream?
* Templating - probably
* Objects + DBI -- yes
* NL -- not core
* Unicode -- yes
* POE -- or something like it
* Inline -- Yes, especially for integrating ... not to embed perl in
something, but to extend Perl by wrapping a C API to be called from a
Perl script.
* Fun -- no.
