doing that, which is fine I guess, but harder to share with everyone
else who might have something to add)

I'll try to answer everything with this completely inadequate,
reductionist answer: I can't put everything in the book, so topics
covered quite well in other books ("Object Oriented Perl", and
"Extending and Embedding Perl" come to mind) aren't as important. Not
only do I have to keep the page count down to something that won't
cause shoulder dislocations, but I have to publish the book fairly
quickly. I can't take several years to write it. :)

That's being said, I've added Inline::* stuff and regular expression
stuff to the proposal. "Mastering Regular Expressions" is still a good
book, but Perl has added a lot of interesting features to regex that
Jeffrey doesn't cover.
