Here we have 2 quads in the same plane (2 & 3) separated by the central 
part of the latch (4). These 3 quads meet quad 1 with a smooth junction 
for 2/3, an abrupt one for 4. A single conditional line is enough 
between 2/3 and 1 (in black on the image), and it is overlapped in the 
middle part by a fixed line (red) that shows the angle between 4 and 1.
