[LSC] New Header Announcement

Guys,

We should answer Tore's question - "why fix something that works"

In Dec 2003, the LSC made a decision that all official meta-commands would
be prefixed by a ! (see
http://five.pairlist.net/pipermail/lsc/2003-December/000063.html).  However,
I can find nowhere on the LDraw web-site or on Lugnet that this decision was
announced.  This over-sight should be corrected.

As a direct result of that decision, from what I can remember, we decided
that all meta-commands in the official PT Library files header would be
prefixed by a ! (that must be in the recent archive somewhere), and we also
decided that as BFC occured both in the header and in the body of the file
it would be treated specially (that must also be in the recent archives)

Anyone want to draft a reply to Tore as I'm snowed under at the moment.

To my big surprise, changing the syntax by adding an exclaimation mark does
not affect the functionality of LDList. (Anders writes more future safe
programs than I do!) The question is, are we that lucky with all other
utilities people all over the world have created? And another question -
that may very well have been answered already, but I obviously have missed
in the flood of mails - why fix something that works?
