Certainly not outlandish, and I like the idea of using proper source 
control, it will also probably streamline official releases a bit 
(although I have no idea how streamlined they already are...), but it 
will be a fair bit of work for someone.

I think it's certainly something to be considered, but it may also take 
quite some time, and the delay moving to the CA licence has already been 
quite considerable. Maybe we should put it on the back-burner for later on?
