I just got a e-machines M6000 laptop/desktop replacement. Just got SUSE 10 working on it.

This is a 2 GHz Althon 64 laptop with 512M / 60 gigabyte HD/ ATI video card.  Wide 15.5 inch screen.  I have CD burner / DVD ROM. Battery light is only two hours, if that. But all the ACPI sections in SUSE work. When on battery, throttle back is to 800 MHz.

Only complaint is the sound system. Speakers suck.

In short, it is a fine candidate for a desktop replacement.  I found it slightly used on eBay for cheap. Look around. Price is from $750 to $1200.00 American.

I will do a more complete review later.
