[linux-laptop] Suspend with nc8230

Hi everyone,

Did someone managed to make suspend to disk or ram work well on an
HP/Compaq nc8230 ?

   I've tried in-kernel suspend & suspend2 patch, suspend-to-ram &
suspend-to-disk, with different kernels and options, and I'm not satisfied
for the moment (details below). I wonder if anywone knows a way to make
suspend (to ram or disk) works perfectly on this machine.

Precisely, I wonder if someone has better results than me in
one of these 3 directions :

1: Suspend to ram : Suspend seems to work, but resume fails. Screen
remains blank, and keyboard does not seem to respond. :-(

2: Suspend to disk : Works almost (with in-kernel suspend or suspend2
patches). The problem is that, most of times, the fan does not work
correctly after resume. Then the CPU temperature grows rapidly and
eventually I have to shutdown the laptop. Compiling fan and thermal
support as modules, unloading at suspend and reloading after resume did
not solved the problem. :-(

   3: I use kernel 2.6.12.6. I've tried 2.6.13.x (x=0, 1, 2) but these
kernels simply hangs my laptop at boot. :-(

No luck for the moment. I didn't found yet on the web reports
saying how to make suspend on the nc8230 working without problems,
I have read also some reports about nc6110/6120/6220 but I fear that
solutions there does not solve the problem for nc8230.

I think that suspend is a very important feature for a laptop.
Except for the suspend feature, I think that the nc8230 is a good laptop
with Linux.
