Hi all,

Recently I bought a USB CDMA modem (Maxon Minmax).

I counld make this modem working undex linux, but I had a small problem
that bother me, and I would like to know if any of you know how to fixed.

My computer is a Acer Travelmate 8000 Series with a Knoppix installed
worrking with Kernel 2.6.9.

When I plug the modem in my laptop the syslog tell me:
laptop kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: GetStatus port 1 status 001002

laptop kernel: usb 1-1: adding 1-1:1.1 (config #1, interface 1)
laptop kernel: usb 1-1:1.1: hotplug

and it means the modem is created as a ttyACM0 devide. But if I wanto to
use minicom to connect with, the modem doesn't respond. I don't know why!!!!

What I did is use kppp and go to terminal to try to uses HIYES commands.
My sorprise was that once kpppp open terminal screen it tried to
inicialize the modem, and after a while (30 seconds) it says: The modem
doesn't respond, but after this moment my modem works fine.

I had a look into the syslog and I saw this new messages:
usb 1-1: control timeout on ep0out

I do not know why after this message in my syslog, I can open minicom
and communicate with my modem (ATZ -> OK).

It happen every time I plug the modem, so at least I know how I can use
the modem, and this is a good new, but it is also a little "bad" to have
to spend some time using kppp to make the modem works.

Please, do you any of you why my modem works like that, or at least how
to automatize this problem in a chat-script?

Thansk a lot,

Ferran Orsola
