Flash remoting is used in large scale. 
When you need to transfer data in between a server and a database in
bulk... 

Using remoting u can transfer data from a database or any backend in a
any form (array, objects, variables) there is no need of SOAP conversion
in this. The data transfer is much faster and secured. 

Using webservice and XMLs are slower and unsecured means of data
transfer.
