[flashpro] Actionscript on shared objects

Does anyone know if you can place actionscript on a shared object? (...it
would be pretty stupid if you couldn't.)

I'm trying to use a shared button across a load of different fla's, so if I
was to change the style of the button later, it will update all these files.
But when I had a link to the imported button, nothing happens!
