Hey Damian,
If you haven't figured this out yet, I just did a similar build with timing
based on imported video (Progressive FLV) and used the netClass.time()
function to get markers for event timing. If this sounds like what you are
looking to do, let me know and I can get into a little more detail.

Hi everyone,
I'm working on project for a client that involves synchronizing video,
supporting images, and closed captioning in a LAMP environment. I also need
it to be extensible, so that the different media content can be inserted.,
basically the I want to use external FLVs, SWFs, and text or XML files to
populate the interface based on user input. All of the methods I know for
synching video and other content do not meet the extensible requirement. Any
ideas are appreciated!
