[flashpro] Adobe owns Macromedia

But every time you buy a product you are giving a company the ability to
make decisions for you. Whatever they choose to do with the software
effects you. The only decision you ever have is whether to buy it or not.
They may take feedback but the software company always makes the decisions.
There are several things Adobe did with CS2 that I hate, and Macromedia with
flash, they weren't my decisions. Besides, with the support of the Mac
Community that Adobe receives I doubt very seriously that they would leave.
Buying Macromedia doesn't make them leave or stay anymore they if they
didn't buy them. I also think there was more behind the decision to stop
making premiere for the Mac. Seems like there is a deal somewhere in there.
I wouldn't be surprised if we found Premiere engineers somewhere behind
Final Cut. (That's just me thinking) I know that Mac and Adobe have been
strained a little since the Os X stuff. Maybe this is Adobe's way of
gaining more leverage? Who knows. I just don't think it is an all bad
thing.
(one big run-on thought.)

Good points, BUT Apple and Adobe are not brother and sister unfortunately.
Adobe has a strong dislike for Apple since they continually come up with
competing products like Final Cut, some of which they offer for free like
iDVD, iMovie and more. Adobe even considered not offering Mac versions of
their software recently, and probably would have done it if they had been
certain that professionals were more loyal to a software than an OS. If
Adobe has full control over all the programs I and many other use (the core
is all Macromedia and Adobe products) and decided to stop supporting Macs, I
would be forced to switch to a windows box or find another line of work (and
turn Apple into just an iPod company). I really don't want Adobe making that
decision for me.
Just a thought,
Tyler
