I finally got to the basement and checked mine, and its a 3024 also. 
I'll have to diss it to get the piece and measure it. Tomorrow maybe.

IIRC it has a rectanguler spring steel retainer on the back of the stem 
to hold it in the case slot, when the pcb has been removed. Thats never 
been removed in mine and I don't have anything like that.

Made out of pure unobtainium in 2023. Do you two still have yours? It 
may have fallen inside when yours broke. The closest I could come would 
be printing a lookalike as a rectangular piece of PETG to slip over the 
stem and perhaps microdrop of superglue in place. I hope I can get mine 
loose w/o breaking it. 40+ yo plastic can get pretty brittle.
