All,

I would like to see a small telephone Private Branch Exchange (PBX) network
at the CoCoFEST that can handle 300/1200 baud modems and Facsimile (FAX). If
we could have one outside line and 10 extensions, then that should be fine.

I know a little about magicJack and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) but
I do not think that will work very well for 300/1200 baud modems. It may
work for a short time but not reliably.

If we could offer this as a feature at the CoCoFEST then we could locate
table close together that want to use this.

Does anybody what to take this on as a project. Perhaps we could have two
PBXs from two different people and connect them together.

We have this option at the Vintage Computer Festival Midwest (VCFMW), but it
is a massive system that is way overkill for our needs.

I know we can use Telnet with a ESP32 device, but it is fun to pick up a
phone with a rotary dial and hear a dial tone. Take me back to the 1980s!

Please don't spend a lot of money on this. If you have something lying
around or you can pick up something cheap, then consider this as an idea.

I welcome your ideas on this.
