Thanks, Robert.  Do you think I could also add PEEKs to my program that will print out memory contents to the screen while the program was running?  I was thinking maybe after assigning values to the arrays that I could add lines to PEEK memory contents, sort of a poor man’s monitor.

One thing you can try is with the MAME or MESS emulators. With Basic running in the emulator, assign an array of any type and switch to the MAME/MESS debugger and examine the memory.The above in conjunction with the UNRAVELLED documents should tell you what you want to know.
