No holy war, there's only one way that's correct.  It's "Gimme" and the G
in GIF is soft like in Giraffe.  ;)  I partially jest.  This is truly what
I believe, but I fully acknowledge that others pronounce GIF differently
than the original creator of the name said it should be pronounced.  I'm
perfectly ok with GIF being pronounced incorrectly by others as long as
they don't try to make me pronounce it incorrectly. ;)  GIME on the other
hand, I have to admit I've never heard it pronounced any way other than
"gimme" before now.
