X10 became way too unreliable for my needs. Which is to say my wife gave me
an ultimatum. I've even had to go as far as have redundancies in case some
network issue caused an outage. My home has hot standby on parts of my network.
We're working on the power issue but she's very unrealistic with whole house power.

One of the reasons for my Insteon/X10 to go was that I have too much junk in my
lab that messes with the power lines. Especially my older stuff (vintage machines).
As they age the electronics become black holes (signal sinks) or noise generators.
Also as I added more and more Insteon to my home I found that they signal strength
was dropping. Add to that the repair of the various faulty nodes (caps are just part
of it) and my CFO (Wife) made it clear this had to go.

I happen to be working with the Sonoff devices, MQTT and Node-Red at the time so I
switched over. I get a much higher reliability with the new mix of WiFi, ZWave and
ZigBee. My old Insteon went to a friend. I've had to tweek a few devices (filters)
for his home but his home has a cleaner AC line than I have.
