I'm looking at the source code,  debug.asm  , NitrOS-9 Apr 2016 and see:

          IFNE  H6309
RegHdr   fcc   " SP  CC  A  B  E  F DP  X    Y    U    PC"
          ELSE
RegHdr   fcc   " SP  CC  A  B DP  X    Y    U    PC"
          ENDC
          fcb   $00

It at least recognizes 6309 registers.

What might be needed in light of recent complaints is an addition to Help messages for using Debug or builtin help messages.
