Robert Gault, I would suggest that you use binary numbers
1, 2, 4, 8,16
So if you join 2 or 3 options you have only one destination, if not, you can take one that is not appropriate, especially if there are 3 or more options

Thinking outside the box, as part of the build you could pass it through
the GNU C preprocessor... I've actually considered doing it in the past
for other assemblers.
