Hi Bruce,
Native Mode is what they are calling it when the CPU is running as a 6309, instead of emulating the 6809. I don't known that much about it yet.
Obviously, I'm curious about how to take advantage of it's potentiality.
I've never run NitrOS9. I only got to OS9 Level II. In in the day. 😊 I do see your point in that the 6309's true capabilities, arise when it receives the instruction set.

There is little Disk Basic (RS-DOS) programing that uses the 6309's
improvements.
