Carefully open it and check your controller circuitry for faulty capacitors (pop corn effect) or other traces of broken/burned parts.

Check also with another computer with disks that are working well and proven.

Maybe there is someone with a working CoCo nearby that can help test with another controller. 
Don't forget to clean the controller contacts where it goes into the computer as well. A pencil eraser works very good on those (and the cable edge connector), but alcohol should also. Might want to open the case so you can get to both sides of the board with an eraser. Spray contact cleaner is available at most parts stores. Good for the female connectors.
