Here are some interesting factoids you may not have known about the dynamic
duo who created the album.
- Buckner and Garcia were friends and bandmates since before high school
in Akron, Ohio.
- They moved to Atlanta Georgia in the 80's and were recording jingles
for Atlanta radio stations
- Before they recorded their own song, they wrote, recorded and produced
several songs for other artists of the era, including the them song to the
hit TV show WKRP in Cincinnati
- When the single to Pac-MAn Fever was first recorded, no record company
wanted it
- It was released on an independent label, and after being heard only 3
times on Atlanta radio, it sold over 10,000 copies in a week
- CBS records after hearing this, bought the single, and wanted an
entire album ASAP
- The single, and album Pac-Man Fever are certified gold, selling over
2.5 million copies
