Pete, are you still using the old RF switch box? I use a F Type Female to RCA Male Coax Coaxial Cable Audio Adapter Connector on the CoCo side, and then connect the other side to the cable-in connector on a small 19" LCD TV. The results are actually pretty decent. It seems to eliminate much of the interference.
I ordered my adapter connector from Amazon, but you might be able to pick one up at a local electronics store.
It still ain't VGA quality, mind you... but it's at least as good as what I personally remember back in the day.

The RF output on my CoCo 2 is just difficult to look and work with. Was it really this bad when I was kid? :) I haven't had this issue with the Z80 machines as they all come with decent terminal-grade video systems. What current options are available to upgrade the video on the CoCo? How do you achieve the best RF results?
