The link on that page leads to sourceforge.net which has the same,
old DW4 file I already have.

At the moment, I don't recall where I got this from. I think it was the "DriveWire" website. I think any damned fool could do this but not ME! I suppose it's because of dealing with a "NEW TO ME" operating system. On 06/23/2017 10:15 AM, Bill Pierce via Coco wrote:> George, do you have Java installed? DW4 has to have Java to run. Alo, to find the version# just click the "Help" and select "About Drivewire4" (I think), and it should give you a small Coco screen with the version#. If you downloaded it from "CocoCoding", then you have the latest version.>> >> >> Bill Pierce> "Charlie stole the handle, and the train it won't stop going, no way to slow down!" - Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull>> My Music from the Tandy/Radio Shack Color Computer 2 & 3> https://sites.google.com/site/dabarnstudio/> Co-Contributor, Co-Editor for CocoPedia> http://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page>> E-Mail: ooogalapasooo at aol.com>> >> >> -----Original Message-----> From: George Ramsower <georgera at gvtc.com>> To: coco <coco at maltedmedia.com>> Sent: Fri, Jun 23, 2017 10:48 am> Subject: Re: [Coco] Installing DW4 on Linux mint>> Bill, on looking this over, I haven't found a version number or anything that indicates what the build is except the download is "DriveWire4.zip". Once I unzip that, I do get enough "stuff" to run it on three OSs and there is a couple of text files that give a bit of information on how to run it. The seemingly correct file to run ends up creating a boatload of repetitive errors. However, there were only three or four errors but they never did clear up. Now I'm totally confused. On 06/22/2017 09:17 PM, Bill Pierce via Coco wrote:> George, what "installation" package are you using for DW4? IIRC, there is no "installation" to DW4. You just unzip the package into a folder and run it.> I'm not really familiar with Linux, but I know the last 6 or 7 versions of DW4 were a single zip file that worked for all platforms. I did do a Linux installation with DW4 in a VM a while back and as I recall, I just unzipped the download into a "home/dw4" folder (I think) and ran the "DW4UI.sh" file. I do recall having issues with my USB2DB9 adapter, but finally resolved it (not a DW4 related problem), and I also couldn't successfully make a desktop shortcut (it never ran from the shortcut), and I had to run it directly from the folder, but again, I'm not a Linux guru and was probably doing it wrong. I'm pretty sure I was running Mint.>> >> >> Bill Pierce> "Charlie stole the handle, and the train it won't stop going, no way to slow down!" - Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull>> My Music from the Tandy/Radio Shack Color Computer 2 & 3> https://sites.google.com/site/dabarnstudio/> Co-Contributor, Co-Editor for CocoPedia> http://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page>> E-Mail: ooogalapasooo at aol.com>> >> >> -----Original Message-----> From: George Ramsower <georgera at gvtc.com>> To: CoCoList for Color Computer Enthusiasts <coco at maltedmedia.com>> Sent: Thu, Jun 22, 2017 9:22 pm> Subject: [Coco] Installing DW4 on Linux mint>> I sent this earlier(days ago) and it seems to have fallen through the cracks.
