My dad was a car guy so I became a gear head. Really love the old muscle
cars. When I was 18, I bought a 1969 Camaro in rough shape. I knew next
to nothing about these Camaros, but started learning quickly. Over the
following 3 years I had taken the thing completely apart (down to the front
sub-frame) and rebuilt the entire thing. I'm amazed at how well the
original Chevrolet factory assembly manual worked -- just like putting
together a model. :) In any case, I was working multiple jobs to help pay
for everything, attended many swap meets and met folks and made many
friends along the way. That, BTW, is the best part about being a car
enthusiasts -- all the great friendships. I see a similar thing with the
Coco community.
In any case, I still have the car today. I turn 50 in 2 weeks.
Sorry for being so far off-topic here on this list -- just responding
briefly.
Thanks!
