I love octoprint on my pi but I will advise that you use the username/password option in the software if there is any possibility of someone connecting to it from the internet. I mistyped the URL to my octopi server and ended up connecting to some other random person's server on the internet and starting a job there before I realized it wasn't my server. Sorry random internet person.

Not sure if anyone else finds this cool, but I do

I turned my 3D printer into a stand alone

I mounted a PI inside of it. I can wirelessly access it from any device and load prints to it from my phone or laptop
I can even remotely heat up the printer
I installed a PI camera so I can remotely view the printing while I am away by port forwarding to view it with my phone
