I would definitely recommend the SDC

I have physical disk drives with all my coco's. I love the sound of the real deal loading a program, but from a reliability stand I have never had any problems loading disks with my SDC. I can't say the same for my floppy drives. And as a bonus you can download an endless number of. Dsk image and load on a SD card

Subject: [Coco] Should I get a CoCo SDC
Hi All,
I’ve just gotten back in to using my CoCo 3 mostly through emulation. I recently pulled out my CoCo 3 hardware to see if I can get my Space Invaders Z80 - 6809 port loaded on real hardware. But I’ve run into quite a few problems. I only have a few floppy disks and none of them can complete a DSKINI (well one did, once but I heard it having problems verifying the disks and it failed the second time). I’ve been reading up a little on my options and I think the best option for me is to use the CoCo SDC.
I will only be using the CoCo 3 mostly under RSDOS and I only use Mac and Linux for my other computers. Is the CoCo SDC the best option I should go with? If so where can I buy one? Are there any available? Are they still being made?
Thanks for listening,
Glen
