I think that page needs to decide whether it's 512 MB or 512 KB that is
being added.
And the electronic issue that you describe doesn't stop the scheme from
being successful. If I'm not mistaken, you could add arbitrary amounts
of memory in this way.

There are problems (If I remember correctly, you can't prevent writes
to
internal RAM from occurring if you write to external RAM, though you
can
prevent internal RAM from being read - via the SLENB line).
