I am NOT bidding on it ... but currently it’s up to $82 but still almost 3 days to go. Shipping for TX at least is $25.92 – which is not so bad. It’s a risk but 4 times out of 5 times the chips just need to be reseated, right? However, if that’s an old-school RAM upgrade you’re going to have a possible heat problem. I remember my CoCo3 w/ 512k from 1988-92 would run quite hot.

Aug last year I bought a CoCo3 128k on eBay for $175.50 + 25.00 S/H which was very clean, works, + had extras. 5 carts, 2 deluxe joysticks, cassette cable, + a couple manuals. Which I thought (and still do) was a bargain for eBay at least.

The remainder here is a little off topic, but it's about eBay: eBay ticked me off so bad a few months ago, I am not too sure I’ll ever buy anything on there again.

A few months ago, eBay cancelled my account. No warning, no email telling me why.

I had been a member since 1998 (18 years!) and my feedback was somewhere around 132 all 100% positive.

I didn't even know my account had been deleted at first, I just thought it was a problem w/ my password. For a couple months I had been doing searches and it showed me as still being logged in w/ my name up there at top and everything. I decided to bid on something, went to bid, it asked for my username/password, and for several attempts kept giving me an error. So I logged out. After that, I was never able to log in again. Going through the reset procedure did not work. Even going through my PayPal account (which still works fine, btw) to reset the eBay password it would take me to a page where it had my account # w/ underscore “deleted” after it in the URL w/ a message something like “there has been an error and eBay can NOT help you reset your password”.

SO... I got around to calling them – which is hard as hell to find the right # and get a real person. Got a nice sounding lady, she said, we are opening an investigation and I’ll have the techs look at it and open a ticket # and you will get an email about it in 24 hrs --- NEVER heard a word. A couple weeks went by, I called again, this time I told them I wanted to speak w/ a manager.

Got a guy on there that sounded knowledgeable and he went through it w/ me. He acknowledged everything I was saying, and that obviously this was some kind of mistake!! He could even look up my name and history and the fact I had just purchased 3 things in the last 3 months. Said what happened is that my account had been scheduled to be deleted due to inactivity, and then it got deleted, and there was NOTHING he could do about it. Zip, nada, nothing. There was NO way they could recover it. Granted, I went a good 3 or 4 years w/o purchasing something prior to the 3 CoCo purchases BUT I had just used the account like 3 months ago!!! Why did that not count?

For me to shop at eBay again, I have to open a new account and start over fresh w/ 0 feedback again. Not sure I ever will. But the problem is that for some things, I will never be able to find them anywhere but eBay if I don’t. So I probably will eventually resign and succumb. gggggrrrrr ...

Sorry to bore anybody w/ my long story!

James
